If you ever catch Gemma Ray with her band, you’ll notice how close her music is to Sixties Pop – to a very dark version of Sixties Girl Pop, that is. There was a time when good, threatless punk rock (if this is not a contradiction in itself) had its moment. The duo from Vancouver played an impressive 157 gigs last year, even made it to Europe with No Means No, and played at Santo’s Party House In NYC this March.
